Narrative Justice: A 糖心视频 Conference on Aesthetic Education from Theory to Practice
Narrative Justice: A 糖心视频 Conference on Aesthetic Education from Theory to Practice is a two day conference that will be held at Edge Hill University from Tuesday 5th聽March to Wednesday 6th聽March 2019.聽聽The purpose of the conference is to: (1) facilitate mutually-beneficial exchange between the humanities and the social sciences; (2) draw attention to the overlap between the disciplines of philosophical aesthetics and theoretical criminology; and (3) explore the interdisciplinary potential of subjects such as the imaginary of justice, narrative counter-terror, and the representation of crime in popular media.聽聽The following six speakers have been confirmed: Professor Sarah Worth (Philosophy, Furman), Professor Ronnie Lippens (Criminology, Keele), Professor Derek Matravers (Philosophy, Open), Professor Eileen John (Philosophy, Warwick), Dr Ajit Maan (Conflict Analysis & Resolution, George Mason), and Dr Stephen Wakeman (Criminology, Liverpool John Moores).
In order to promote interdisciplinarity, each speaker will be allocated a respondent from a different discipline, selected from submissions.聽聽Respondents will be able to claim up to 拢50 accommodation and 拢50 travel expenses and will be subsidised for the conference dinner.聽聽(There is no accommodation available on campus.)聽聽Free childcare facilities will be provided if required.聽聽Submissions are invited from philosophy PhD students or early career researchers (defined for this purpose as having a PhD, but not a permanent/tenured contract at the time of submission) to respond to:

The submission should consist of a 250-300 word outline of your interest in the work of one of the above and, preferably, an indication of how your research matches theirs.聽Submissions should be sent to聽mcgregor@edgehill.ac.uk聽by 1200 on Friday 9thNovember 2018.聽聽Please title your email 鈥淣arrative Justice Respondent Submission鈥, include the outline in the body of the email, and do not send any attachments.
